Anglerfish

This artwork came from my first year Research Methodology project. We had to focus on one animal and create an entire body of work to do with that animal. I chose the Anglerfish. I found it fascinating that they lure their prey with the bacterial fueled light.

I found a poem called 'The mermaid' and it was about a woman scorned who killed herself at sea, and each night she would lure unwary sailors in with her beauty and then kill them as a type of revenge.
